How wide and long and high and deep

… And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19 (NIV)

Do you know how much God loves you—to what extent he has gone to demonstrate his love to you?

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20 (NIV)

Look at the sky—

Sunrises consistently burst with color. Streaks of sunlight warm the air and energize every living atom. Hydrogen and oxygen unite perfectly to produce rain and snow sustaining all living creatures. Flaming sunsets give rise to black space strewn with stars of untold universes.

Look at the earth—

Royal mountains reach to the clouds in snowy crowns challenging us to persevere for greater perspectives. Rivers and streams run with fresh water carving canyons and pathways to the sea.

Look at the creatures—

Beautiful, strong, unique creatures graze in our grasslands, swarm in our seas, and soar above our heads.

Look at human beings—

Loving, caring, reasoning people populate our world. Families, communities, countries with diverse traditions and languages but universal desires for love, life, and prosperity.

Look at Jesus Christ—

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  John 3:16-17 (NIV)

God loves us so wide, so long, so high, and so deep that he walked among us and touched the sick, the maimed, the unlovely, the sinners and restored us. His shed blood on the cross and resurrection was the payment for our sin and the great exchange wherein we were made righteous children of God. We have been given hope of a glorious future when we will be like Jesus and see him face to face.

There is no greater love than this—embrace Jesus and the love of God and live!
