Countdown to Christmas – Enjoy God’s creation

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
Psalm 19:1-4 NIV

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine naturehave been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made… 1:20 NIV

When I find myself in a difficult situation, or encounter suffering in my life, I can always find comfort in nature. A walk outside, whether it’s in a nature preserve or a city park, fills me with hope and wonder as I consider the beauty of the world God created for us to enjoy.

No matter how poor or prosperous, the gift of creation is extended to all without distinction. We can all gaze at a sunset and marvel at the beauty of the curvature of light rays.

Watch cloud formations run swiftly across the blue skies.

Breathe in the abundance of plants bearing flowers and fruit with marvelous colors and fragrances.

Delight in birds singing and soaring overhead.

Open your eyes and see the love of God in the world he’s given us to enjoy. Worship God in the glory of his creation today.

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.”
Job 12:7-10 NIV
