Walking by the Holy Spirit is not simply experiencing his power in our lives, or gaining direction, it is a daily devotion to the Lord which communicates the love of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 5:16 says, Let your light shine in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (ESV)
The Holy Spirit fills us with God’s love and enables us to love one another – “by which all people will know we are Jesus’ disciples.” (John 13:34-35 ESV)
And God’s love is
- Incomprehensible (Ephesians 3:19)
- Everlasting (Psalm 103:17)
- Steadfast and Faithful (Psalm 25:10)
- Fear Conquering (2 Timothy 1:7, I John 4:18)
- Unconditional (I Corinthians 13)
Nothing can separate us from God’s love! (Romans 8:38-39)
My final thought on the Holy Spirit is this prayer for you, dear friend,
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
(Ephesians 3: 14-19 ESV)
