I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth. (3 John 1:4 ESV)

When I read this verse I immediately wrote it down because it speaks to my heart – and most likely the heart of every Christian mother. I do desire my children’s health and happiness, and it gives me pleasure to hear of their successes and joys. But their steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives is my greatest hope.

I have four children – three by birth and one by marriage. They are the delight of my life and it thrills me to hear them call me Mom. But true satisfaction comes with the knowledge that they all love Jesus and call him Lord.
