A Kingdom that Cannot be Shaken

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel…Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe… Hebrews 12:22-24, 28 (ESV)

Sometimes I lose focus. I forget who I am, what I’m here for. I feel detached and a bit lost. What’s the purpose—what’s my purpose?

Then I read God’s word and am reminded again of what lies ahead—of what’s already begun. God has a perfect plan to save the lost and fill his kingdom. In compassion, he speaks to my heart and reassures me of his love. Truth gives clarity to my life. I am God’s child and a celebration is at hand. Angels are gathering.

Therefore, give thanks with me for our kingdom can’t be shaken! Let’s offer to God our worship with reverence and awe.
