In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’” Matthew 3:1-3 NIV
John the baptist preceded Jesus with his baptism of repentance to prepare hearts to receive their Messiah. As we anticipate the celebration of Jesus’ birth, let’s prepare our hearts as well.
However you choose to do this is up to you. Whether you choose to fast, pray, or simply examine your life, won’t you join me in opening your heart to hear the words of John the Baptist and Repent for the Kingdom of God has come!
Thank you for this beautiful post
